It’s got the LOOK!

We always wanted a homely look to the place we bought. We had seen interior decorator Santosh Moghe’s work in the past. He knew what we would like and thus gave us very much what we were looking for.

Santosh Moghe, the interior designer had his say too. “I kept no fixed concept in my head before I started working on this house. I knew the Damles, so I did have a vague idea about what they would like. The theme of the Damle residence is based around modern and contemporary. It’s extremely convenient designing, mainly because there being a dog in the house, there should be linen that’s manageable and furniture that’s adjustable.”

Living room

The colours I have chosen for the living room are very soothing, they are shades of lemon yellow and green. It has this near-nature feel to it. The light fittings are of the Egyptian style. The best part about lighting, is I have given them an option for white as well as yellow light, so they could create a mood of their own in the room. The whole point about the living room, is that there’s just enough furniture, not much of a cluster. So there’s room for changing the placement of the furniture as and when they please, as per their likes.

Kid’s bedroom

Bright colours suit children, so I chose orange to get a younger and fresher feel to the room. I have used minimal furniture in this particular room so that Ankit could move and play around his bed. A smart mirror and a convenient desk for studying is always necessary in a kid’s room as well.

Family room

This room has an Indian contemporary sitting style with a floor mounted, very inviting sofa for longer family television hours. The colours used are black and grey, with minimal lighting, and good acoustics for a modern home theatre mood.

Guest room

I chose a very rich berry colour for this room. Ankit’s grandmother stays here most of the times. And again, there’s minimal use of furniture for her to walk around and feel cluster-free and be as comfortable as she wishes.

Kitchen

More space to walk around, less of the mess, and enough place to store things. I have also made sure that all the mess goes behind a solid door in the kitchen itself leading to a store room
