Versar Finalizes ‘Wounded Warrior’ Project at Walter Reed Medical

Versar, Inc. announced that the Court One Corp./Versar team recently completed a $1.3 million design/build project to renovate Building 17, a residential building housing wounded soldiers and Army Community Service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C.

In a release, Versar said this project was contracted with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District and was completed under budget, on schedule, and with high satisfaction of the end- users.

The Building 17 renovation was a part of the Wounded Warrior Project, which improved safety, accessibility, and the comfort of building occupants. The project was conducted by the Court One/ Versar Team, which completed the renovation and system shutdowns of the occupied building without disruptions to the building’s occupants. The 12-month project involved the installation of new heating and cooling units, electrical fixtures and circuits, and architectural requirements to meet American Disability Act standards.
